Covid Christmas 2020

 Rules, Rules, Rules....

No family Gatherings. Yeah ok thanks Government for taking care of us dummies who can't make any decisions for our selves..

all in all we had an amazing Christmas month

Dec 19, we watched Grady's baptism via zoom and ate a wonderful ham dinner then went to a live nativity put on in the park so vehicles could drive by and see it. Mac Strong and his family did an awesome job, even hosting live animals.  After that we looked at a few Christmas lights and then went back to the halls to watch a Christmas movie and eat homemade caramel pop corn which was super yummy.

Dec 20 was Macies birthday and we got together again and enjoyed More food and visiting

Dec 21, Abbie and Brady put on a scavenger hunt around town regarding certain lights we had to find.

Aunt Corrine Dropped by just before Christmas and gave the kids super cute ginger bread houses. Kansas was so adorable when she got hers. She was very excited.

Christmas Eve, we went to the Halls house and ate a ton of amazing finger food:

Meat, cheese, and Pickles.

chicken wings,

spinach dip

fudge

cookie pies

mango salsa

brie,

bacon wrapped jalapeƱos

and dirty sodas

We ate like kings, amazing kings.

Opened up our Christmas jammy's and played a Christmas white elephant game and read a few Christmas stories and songs.

Then we came home to get ready for Santa.

We read the night before Christmas and put out milk and cookies and carrots and the kids got a healthy dose of melatonin and they went to sleep. Grandma slept over to wake up with the kids.

Christmas morning was amazing. well the parents were tired. See Macie was up at 2:30am and Wade 4:30am but luckily they both were back asleep.

Presents started to be opened at 7am. Everyone did quite well. Kanzy got a puppy that did not bite or jump up. Wade got some war stuff, and macie got a skate board.

In the early afternoon we went over to the Halls to enjoy more food and visiting. After dinner had settled down,  we did a talent show.

Macie sang and played the piano

Wade told some jokes

and the adults did a funny skit.

It was truly a Christmas to remember. Many new traditions were formed and old ones renewed. Our hope is to continue this magic for years to come.

Macie is 9

It is hard to believe that my Miracle baby is already 9. Time Is flying and I love and hate it as the same time. She has grown a lot this past year and is looking more like a big kid every day. Macie loves math and is pretty good with her numbers. She loves playing games, walking Lucy, Basketball, playing with cousins and making up dances with Baylee. She is super kind and is always thinking of others and how to make them happy. She’s been working extra hard at her piano lately and has really improved. She’s just a sweet girl and we love her so much.

For her Birthday she got new Roller Blades and we had her favourite  meal of Fettuccine Alfredo and garlic breadsticks, then we ended with some delicious strawberry cupcakes.

Picture’s of the kids

I needed some updated photos of the kids, so I got my IPhone, put them in cute clothes and the pictures turned out pretty good. Helps when your kids are so stinking adorable.

Cutting down the Christmas Tree

This year Dad got a permit for us to cut down our very own Christmas tree! He was able to get enough permits to cut down 3 trees so we took the Halls and Tollestrup’s with us. The day could not have been more beautiful. We went the first Saturday in December the 5th of 2020. We had a beautiful walk, and visit and enjoyed the beautiful scenery surrounding us.

Update on Life

 where do we start.....

Lucy has grown up big time. she is huge. She is very smart and listens pretty well. She still has a few challenges with biting and jumping up, and making huge messes, but what pup doesn't. She is super cute and friendly, but can be very shy.

Kansas is groing up so fast. The last week she has done really awesome potty training. She is practically there, very little accidents. Every morning she wakes up dry.

She is such a funny kid. Her one liners make the whole family fall down laughing. One night mom and dad were talking in the living room, and the kids were in the kitchen playing with play-dough. Mom mentioned Africa and Kansas was," Africa, did you hear that guys, we are going to Africa!" mom and dad almost fell off the couch laughing.

She wanted to get a puppy for Christmas that did not jump up on her and did not bite her.  Santa brought her a little battery powered puppy that walks and barks.

Kansas can count to 13 with no issues. She knows and loves her full name. Kanzy Grace Hunsperger.

Wade is into war right now. He reads and watches anything WW1 or WW2. He can tell you lots about D-day and battle of the bulge, he loves everything about it. He plays army, and military games in his bedroom for hours.

Macie continues to develop her talents in music, dance, and art. She has a beautiful voice and sang a solo for primary presentation, and her cousin Grady's baptism. She has been working very hard on the piano and able to play some fun songs to entertain the family.

Covid is still plaguing the world and causing fear for some. News, media and governments seem to be pushing the fear like nothing I have seen.  The truth is, this is a very contagious flu, that has severe consequences for the elderly and immunocompromised individuals. Children seem to not be major spreaders, but young and middle age adults are. Currently the government has put strict rules in place for gatherings and "non-essential businesses" All restaurants are take out only.  These governmental restrictions have put individuals and police in hard spots. Freedoms we have had are taken in an instant. Will we ever see a time when we can enjoy an outing with out a mask or witnessing the fear of a stranger shaking hands..I believe our custom of shaking hands will be lost,  along with many traditions we hold dear.

here is a photo dump to catch up with.
