Theres a Squirrel in my Garage!

Just another boring Saturday. Waiting for the rain to come, Working on a few projects around the house.  I was gathering tools from the garage and when out of the corner of my eye, I see this puffy tail whoosh around some debris. What the heck? I think this day is looking up. I round up the kids and pets, and shut the garage door. We are going hunting kids.
Our garage is a huge mess, filled to the brim with junk and stuff that should be stored in a shed, so its a maze with tones of small hiding spaces. With the help of my incredible mini retrievers we sniff out the beast. Those hounds are great on the ground. I would shake the shelves and scare out the varmint and the dogs would work the chase on the lower level. Molly and Lilly were in dog heaven. haven't worked that hard in like, well ever.. The kids were my eyes and ears and excitable commentators.
This squirrel was a little daredevil. Scaling shelves, garage door, boxes, even some death defying leaps. eventually he trapped himself in a tall box. HA HA. But we could not grab him. It was like the Matrix in a box. The beast was leaping side wall to side wall.  Kids were watching with intensity, screaming and jumping at each sudden movement. The dogs were going nuts.
After a bit, we all figured it would be a good idea to let the little dare devil go. Opened the box and tried again to grab him this time he jumped from the wall to my arm and out. Kids were screamin' dogs were spinning out trying to catch the vermin. I learned a big lesson, even if the garage door is open doest mean the animal will run to freedom. Yeah so open cages outside and close all doors to your house or vehicle or what ever.. anyway the little fella did not want to leave the comforts of our garage.
It took a lot of chasing and screaming, sweat and laughing to get rid of him. I almost grabbed him a few times but he was too quick. By no attempt of his own, we finally got rid of him. He had climbed up on the top of the open garage door, so by closing it he had to jump off and out side. YEEHAW.
I think All parties had a good day. Now our dogs are obsessed with going into the garage.

Best Beach Day Ever!!!

We pretty much hit up the beach almost everyday right now. 1 because it is has been beautiful and 2 we have no grass yet so I have no yard to play or work in. Today when we got there we grabbed a spot and started playing, when minutes in a group of kids that where probably about 10-12 years old came and started playing by us. Not gonna lie was a little annoyed as I can't stand the way kids and teenagers talk these days. F this and F that, swearing non stop and talk so gross and sexually all the time. These kids were doing this a little bit but not to bad and where at least not yelling and screaming when they would swear. Macie and Wade were having a great time playing in the water and the kids beside us started digging this huge hole. They had gotten pretty deep when they dug up these two kids toys, one was a batman boy car and one a pink and purple car with a little girl in it. The boy had no use for it and came over to us and asked the kids if they wanted to have them. They of course said yes and thank you and where in love. They played with these toys for the next 30 minutes then me and the kids made sand homes
For the cars to play on. In the mean time this hole was starting to get pretty epic.
I asked Macie to go ask the boys if they wanted to use our shovel and buckets to help make the hole bigger, and to start filling it with water. They of course said yes and then asked Macie and Wade if they wanted to help. They all spent the next hour making the hole bigger and filling it with Water. I was so impressed with these kids and how good they played with Macie and Wade. I also noticed once my kids were playing with them they did not swear or talk gross once. I of course wish they didn't talk that way at all, but was impressed that they recognized to stop once little kids where there. It was such a fun day and so sweet seeing them all play together.

Great day!!!!

This past month has been a little rough in our house, but today, today was perfect!! Started the morning with chocolate Cheerios (ssh don't tell), kids played perfectly together while I cleaned the house a bit. Then we made pictures of Monsters wearing underpants, kids loved this as we have been reading books at night about Monsters, Aliens, and Dinosaurs in underpants. After lunch we headed to the beach for the whole afternoon, it was crazy nice outside and we ran into many friends. When we got home we made delicious Waffles for supper. Then the best part while I took a minute to clean the kitchen and then chill for a bit, the kids played so good together. They usually play really good together but there is always one or two little fights in there play. But tonight they played perfectly, laughing, sharing, and smiling. Then we ended the night with freezies, a 20 minute show, reading Go Dog Go, prayers, songs and snuggles while the kids passed out in seconds. Love days like today and was definitely needing it.

One little stitch

I don't really even know how to explain what happened to Macie, but just imagine an earring with a tiny little fake diamond that pushed its way into Macies ear over the past couple of days and then the ear closed up with the earring inside of it. So you have this earring that won't come out the back because of the diamond on it and the skin  is closed up in the front so you can't push it back through. So we had to make our way to the E.R. The Doctor tried pulling it out at first with some special tools but when that didn't work he had to freeze her little ear make a teeny tiny cut, pull out the earring and then give her one little stitch cause the ear bleeds really bad and won't stop unless you stitch it up. The Doctor was so proud of how brave Macie was and that she didn't wine or cry, she barely even flinched that he let her pick out a stuffed animal. Of course cause we had just had a frog as a pet for the past two days she picked the funny looking frog and we named him Spark Jr

SPARK!!!

On Tuesday we went out to a friends house that lived on an acreage and they had just cut the grass which means tons of frogs. Macie loved them and asked to take one home. It was the smallest one there, we got a mason jar for it and some grass and water. Macie named him Spark  (I was super impressed with her name) and we took him home with us. We played outside with him as much as possible but finally today we had to release him so he could go get food. Macie was so sad and really struggled but finally found the strength and let him go. So fun having her own pet for a couple of days.

Last Day of Preschool!!!

It is crazy that this day has come. She has grown so much this year and I am loving the little girl she is turning into. Her teacher Mrs Stacey Reid was amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better person to help Macie along in her journey of life. This September will be 4 year old preschool and then Kindergarten.

Two Face lives on!!

Every single time this kid gets hurt it is always on the left side of his face. The Dog bite, cutting open his forehead, a subconjunctival hemmorage to his eye from the end of a dinosaur tail, little cuts and scrapes have always been on this side and today he smoked his face on his bed and of course hit his left eye pretty hard.  We started calling him two face after awhile.

ANOTHER CHANGE!!

A month ago Mark went up to a work camp called Jackfish for Devon. His boss talked to him while he was there and said they needed someone up here full time, would you consider taking it. It would be back to shift work 8 days on 6 days off, and while he is working he is away from the family. We talked about it and prayed about and it felt like the right decision to take it. He would have an awesome trainer to work under, would be able to finish more of his inspection courses, a little bit more pay, and the best part it would allow us to live wherever we wanted. He told his boss that he was interested and in less then a month the deal was made and he starts his new position at the end of May. The process went so fast we thought for sure it would be August at the earliest he would start the new job but nope they wanted him right away. I am so proud of Mark and how hard he has worked at his job and the opportunities he has been given because of it. We definitely won't be moving right away as we have lots of decisions to make and we need the housing market to go back up, but we are excited to eventually be closer to family, the mountains, the temple, and bigger cities.  There is even talk about building on our land in Glenwood, but we shall see.
