SAD TRI-ATHALON NEWS

Sorry Royall if you read this before I get the chance to tell you in person, but are fun little weekend trip to Magrath is going to be one member short. Sometimes being the manager really sucks.

These past four months I have been working really hard at loosing weight and getting in better shape so I could train to run a tri-athalon this summer, I have been doing so good and have lost a total of 25 pounds and can do all the 3 stages the tri-athalon requires. 750 meter swim, 26km bike ride and 5km run, however I have never put them together, that is what these next two months were going to be for, and hopefully drop another 10 pounds in the meantime. Until yesterday when one of my part timers asked for the weekend off for a wedding and my other part timer is away on holidays. How can I say no, I could not handle being the mean manager that does not let people have time off when they ask for it. Actually I have a hard time saying no to anything they ask for, maybe I am just not manager material. I know they like me but I have a hard time talking to them if they are doing things wrong or showing up late for shifts or not being professional enough with customers, ahh anyone with manager experience please help.

So with me being to layed back and having the inability to say no, has now left me with a goal unaccomplished for the year. However I think I am going to keep training for it, maybe try and figure out how to do one on my own.

10 REASONS KALINDA LOVES MARK!!!!

1. He is singing at the top of his lungs in the shower to Julie Andrews "My Favourite things" right now as I am writing this.
2. If you asked him if he saw Glee the other day he would have a very dumbfounded look on his face and ask what are you talking about.
3. He makes me laugh everyday.
4. He has had one sick day since he has been at his job with Devon, and maybe 3 since we have been married, such a hard working man, I know that is why he is blessed with such a good job.
5. He is still singing in the shower, but now making up his own version of what his favorite things are: hot tubs, and quading, and pizza, and days off.
6. His willingness to help others is marvelous, you ask him for help he will be there with no complaining and a big smile on his face and be the hardest working one there.
7. Helps with Dinner, Dishes, Cleaning the house, running errands all of the mom stuff, as I work full time and don't get around to it all the time, so pretty much we share the work load, which is nice.
8. How even though he is not the most romantic man in the world he is always trying to make me happy, especially if I am upset about something.
9. This one you might want to read at your own discretion, His cute little butt, especially in nice jeans and a T-Shirt.
10. His amazing bright, spunky, loving, adorable, personality that makes it impossible not to like him, even if you are really mad at him.

So the reason for this lovey dovey post is because are anniversary is coming up in a couple of months and today I was thinking about what cute thing I could make for him this year, I started thinking about all the reasons I love this man to death and these were just some of them. 1 and 5 I came up with as I was writing this blog.

GREEN THUMB!!!!

Mark and I did some gardening for the first time since we have been married, actually besides the odd time I helped my mom out in the garden this is the first time I have ever planted anything. Mark says it is not gardening, but my hands got dirty and we had to water something after words so in my mind I am calling it gardening. When we first moved into our house three summers ago there was some pretty flowers in the front of the house, but they are not perennials so they died on us. The past two summers there has been nothing but barren dirt where the beautiful flowers use to be, so we finally decided this summer that was going to change. We went to this really cute local green house and spent about 20 minutes looking at all the beautiful flowers until we finally made our decision. Purple and white Pansy's was the final decision. They look great and add a wonderful touch to our house, even Cobalt loves them.

VACATION!!!!

Well I Could go on for hours and days about my amazing vacation but that would probably be boring for everybody else so I will some it up the best I can. First of all It was amazing, absolutely amazing. The weather was gorgeous, we did so many fun things and Mark and I had a blast together. I can only remember 3 annoying things happening.
1. I got very very sick on the boat on the night of day 1, but got better thanks to some pills,
2. I took those pills at universal studios to help with the motion rides and it made me very tired all day and I felt like a zombie I almost fell asleep on a roller coaster ride and
3. How it cost way more than we thought.

Really for that to be the only annoying things we are pretty lucky. So now to some up the vacation.
Days 1-3 were on a cruise ship, we had a blast and were fortunate enough to meet another young couple of the church and hung out with them the whole time, making it a lot more enjoyable as everybody else was drinking. We also got to go snorkeling in the ocean which was amazing.
The rest of the days were spent in Orlando, We went to Sea World first and absolutely loved every minute of it, my 2 highlights were the whale and dolphin show and then there was this little dolphin nursery where I made friends with this dolphin that kept playing peek-a-boo with me. Then we relaxed by the pool all day Sunday and got some nice color on or pasty white bodies. Monday we did universal, it was a lot of fun but like I said earlier I was like a zombie for a lot of the day. Wednesday was Mark's favorite day we went to the Space Kennedy Center, it was so amazing and we learned so much, plus we got to have lunch with an Astronaut who was on Apollo 15 and walked on the moon and took pictures with him that was so neat.
Then the rest of the days were spent in Disneyland, fun but not as exciting as I thought it was going to be. Definitely was our least favorite things we did but still he had so much fun. So that was about everything oh except I also forgot we got to go to an NBA Playoff game. I would have to say Seaworld, NASA, the NBA game were my favourite parts, but it was all great. By Thursday night though Mark and I were ready to come home and see our puppies we missed them so much but really enjoyed our time away together. COLLECTIVE SOUL

When I was about 14 years old my brother bought this Blue Collective Soul CD, He was listening to it really loud one day at home, I think The World I Know was playing and I instantly fell in love, from that day on they have been my favorite Band of all times. I would listen to them everyday, downloading every song, when I came across the song "RUN", not only did this become my favorite band but they now also had my favorite song. It has forever been my #1 song, until recently, Collective Soul has still been making CD's over the years and I have always been impressed. Two years ago I bought there CD Afterwards and of course loved it, however was busy with life and did not listen to it all that often, until last Saturday when I was cleaning the house, the song New Vibration came on and I think I listened to it 10 times in one day. I now carry that CD from the house to the car and listen to that song about 5 times a day and still am not sick of it. I don't know if I can say it has replaced RUN but it is getting pretty close, I will have to make that assumption further down the road and see if I can listen to it anytime anyplace like I can with RUN.

So these next two weeks while I am on a bloging Hiatus, for good reasons, writing Final exam and going on our vacation to Florida I have decided to dedicate my Playlist to Collective Soul and the amazing band they are, they will forever be #1.

Mark and I finally decided to take some pictures to update in our house as all our photos in our picture frames are from when we were first married. I am also hoping to update more from our vacation.

FAITH!!!

Isn't it amazing, Mark and I planted some flowers in January for a monday night family home evening project. Flowers have a hard time growing in our house as we don't get a lot of sun with the way our house is situated. We put them in two pots and wrote on them faith is believing and doing, Mark came up with the idea for a young men lesson, and we decided to try it ourselves for FHE. It is interesting how at first I really did not think they would grow I really had no faith I just let them sit there in a window that got no sun and watered them hardly ever. We'll then I finally decided to do as the pot said FAITH is Believing and DOING, Mark and I decided to move the pots to a window that got more sun exposure and made an effort to water them every other day. In the past month have we not only seen some vine but in the last couple of days we actually had them bloom, know they are not very big flowers, but we are so proud of them and can't believe how much we learned about Faith in this exercise.

A HIDDEN TALENT!!!

So this saturday is our ward talent show. I am the head of the activities committee so I have been planing away, Mark has been a great help and I told him he had to do something, at first he got out his old magic trick box but realized it was pretty lame and did not work all that great, so today he decided to pull out his trumpet that he has not played since grade 9 or 10. We'll to my much amazement he is actually pretty good. I think he is going to wow the branch with this secret talent of his.
