Magrath Grade 4 B-ball

Wade has worked pretty hard to get better at basketball this year. Not only was he on the Raymond team, but also on the 4th Grade community ball team. He played more ball in 3 months than he played his whole life previous.

His golden achievement was playing at halftime during the heart breaker boys game. He got the feeling of what it will be like to play in front of big crowds.

Unfortunately he didn’t make a basket but his presence was felt on defense with a few steals and rebounds.

Good job buddy!

Raymond Basketball

This year, Macie and Wade have been on 2 community basketball teams.

In Raymond, they were on the same team and had to learn a lot about the game of basketball. After 4 months they both came out stronger players. Wade’s defense has got stronger, and last night we saw Macie shoot the ball strong from further out.  Although they did not win any medals, they put in blood sweat and tears to make it through.

SuperBowl 57

 2023 Super-bowl

We have been making it intersecting by picking winners and other items throughout the game.

This year was a good time and great food.

All the Magrath family got together and made their picks to win the first family Super Bowl trophy.

The chiefs won 38-35 over the eagles

Our little Kansas was pretty happy. But the big winner was Macie.

Trophy and $10 to the Goose

Spelling Super Star

In late January, Wade ask us for an expensive war set made by BMC. this particular set was 1898 US war vs Spain at San Juan hill. The toy set cost over $100.00. Yikes that is a lot. This was an opportunity for Wade to work to earn this toy. One of Wade’s weakness’ is spelling. His notes and writing is very hard to read due to spelling. My challenge to Wade was to spell 95/100 words at the end of February.

His first attempt he got 5/100. He was very depressed thinking that he would never succeed. I spend a lot of time working on words and studied many hours.

On Feb 10, wade took the test and got 83/100. What an improvement!  Wade studied the words he got wrong and attempted the test again

On Feb 11, he took the test again and scored 95/100.

To his surprise he got his toy that day

New Car

It’s very hard to justify a new car. But when your main vehicles are costing major moola in repairs, more than they are worth it gets hard not to look at new. We test drove many vehicles and when looking at second hand the cost was not much higher to go new. We ended on a 2023Hyundai Elantra. Good fuel economy and decent looking car as well. I hope it turns out many many reliable miles for our family

API INSPECTOR

Well after 10yrs I finally completed the trifecta of inspection certificates. These exams are long, and take hours of study. Everyone said API 653 was the hardest of the three. Well I got to say, I found it was the easiest. The other 2 seemed to be a bit harder. This is a wonderful achievement for any person and I am thankful for the support of  CNRL, my family and God. Completing these proves that with some hard work an effort, goals can be achieved.

This is not the end of training. There are many more courses and trainings to do and personal development never ends.

Here's to the next 10 yrs.

Kansas Grace

Kansas is growing up so fast. She is in Kindergarten 1/2 days from 12:30 to 3:30. She loves to do the stations: Playdough, Lego, Coloring, etc.

She has a little following of boys that write her love notes once in awhile.

The other day, she was talking about when she grows up and gets married, she wants a Border Collie/ German Shepard cross.
I asked her, "what if your husband is allergic to dogs?" She says, "Ill ask Thomas and Drew if they are allergic."

Macie goes to Young Womens

 Life keeps moving so fast.

Macie went to her first youth fireside today. The message was about the new youth program and introducing it to the new group of recruits. President and Sister Wilde went through the booklet bringing to light the new structure and sharing insights on how to be successful.

Macie we hope you can use what you learn to grow stronger and be successful in all aspects of your life

Gratitude #2

Today our family went to church. I am grateful to live in a community with like minded individuals. Who want to do better, who try to love God. There is strength knowing that we are like minded.

This town is far from perfect as are the people, but I believe that everyone is trying and that each Sunday, people reflect on the past week and the opportunities to make changes for the better.

This makes me happy

January 9 Thankfulness

There have been several studies that suggest gratitude is a powerful tool to combat many of life's aliments, including mental health issues. in a world full of negativity, it is easy to fall in the filth and flow in that direction. Today I wish to start listing a few things that fill me with gratitude and joy.

First of all right now I am grateful for a loving wife, who works hard, is very practical, focuses on intention parenting.

3 awesome kids that all have amazing talents and spirits that inspire me.

A home that suites our family needs. Its not perfect, but it keeps us warm, an sheltered.

Health for all of us. We are all healthy and able bodied people.

Jobs that help us grow and support us in these challenging times.
