OUR FIRST MONTH
MACIE:
-weighed 9lbs 15 ounces today
- is an unbelievably good sleeper. at night she sleeps for 4 to 5 hours then wakes up for a quick 30 minute feed and then back to bed for another 3. Last night she even did a 6 hour stretch 20 minute feed then 3 hour stretch. Loving it!!
- is a fantastic eater as you can tell by her weight. Eats often eats lots and is growing big and strong thanks to it. She will sometimes take a bottle but enjoys mom the best.
- is making noises other then crying now, it is a very soft coo noise.
- loves her baths but hates getting out of them and getting cold.
- is tolerating the diaper change, does not cry anymore but does not enjoy it.
- loves lying on the floor in her bedroom with the heater on her and kicking her hands and feet.
- will stick to a schedule if Mom puts in the effort.
- absolutely loves to snuggle especially on mom and dad's chest.
- smiled at me today when I was talking to her, it melted my heart.
- has a loud cry but thankfully is very easily fixable. She only cries about 5 things: Food, Sleep, Gas, Diaper Change, and a change of scenery. Once her needs our meet she is back to being my happy baby. The only time it is a struggle is when she has gas and even that she fixes quickly.
- hates being put in her carseat, but falls asleep within 1 minute of being in there.
- has tried a pacifier about 3 times but has decided it is not for her.
- is absolutely wonderful, adorable, beautiful, fantastic, the list goes on and on, I can't be grateful enough for what a good baby she is being.
Kalinda:
- Is totally and completely in love with this little girl
- Is getting amazing sleep for being a new mom, although still have tired days and moments and the big bags under the eyes show it.
- grateful I walked and ate healthy my whole pregnancy has made for a quick recovery.
- is counting down the days till I can go in the hot tub, swim laps at the pool, run on the treadmill, and go for a bike ride.
- is learning that the best days with Macie are when I am totally focused on her. When I put away the computer, TV remote, and the messy house and work on keeping her on a good schedule.
Mark:
- Is a fantastic Dad he is going to spoil this little girl rotten. He knows how to keep her awake and happy, especially if mom needs a break for a minute, can feed her a bottle, will change her diaper with no complaints, pick cute outfits for her to wear, boils all her bottles to keep them sanitary, snuggles her to sleep. Pretty much loves his little girl and nurtures her the way she needs to be nurtured. If I wasn't around she would be well cared for.
- Is a fantastic husband, giving me breaks when I need them, doing the early morning feeding when he is on days off which lets me sleep from 10 at night till 6 the next morning. Gives me massages when I ask for them, helping me keep the house clean, never complains even if he is exhausted. While all at the same time is being the Young Men's President, Taking another Engineering course through NAIT, teaching his GPO class monday nights at the College, and of course working a full time job.
- Is a wonderful priesthood holder. He is nurturing and strengthening our family in the gospel everyday and I love him so much for this. Making sure we have daily family scripture reading, prayers, and weekly FHE.
Lily:
- we'll of course is crazy jealous of Macie and all the attention Macie is getting and she is not getting
- still with being jealous she is also very interested in Macie. When Macie is lying on the floor if Mark and I wear not there I don't think Macie would make it out of all the licking, kissing, jumping, and sniffing Lily would do to her.
- is concerned for Mom and wants to snuggle with me whenever she can, does not understand why I am slow moving, not going for walks and always occupied with Macie.
- Is still totally loved by Mom and Dad and I can't wait for warm weather so we can go for walks as a family.
Molly:
- don't think she is jealous at all just insanely curious about Macie whenever she cries she runs over to Macie and wants to see what is going on
- When Macie cries really loud it kind of annoys her and she sighs like uh no not that loud screech again it hurts my ears
- is more cautious around Macie and will slowly go to her when she is lying on the floor and try to smell her and figure out who and what she is but does not try and attack her like Lily tries to do.
- is wishing the weather would warm up so she could go for walks.
- and is still loved by mom and dad
Cobalt:
-we'll she is still here, that is a good sign. actually Cobalt is being really good and for the most part just ignores her, every once in a while she gets curious and wants to sniff her.
