1ST PAID PHOTO SHOOT!
I am cheep when it comes to getting professional pictures of Macie, but seeing as she hadn't had any done since my Sister did them when she was a newborn I figured it was time to fork out a little dough and get some done. They turned out super cute and I am so glad I did. We just went to the Wal-Mart Photo centre to get them done as this summer we are going to hopefully get family pictures done.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!!!
Today we did a family trip to edmonton just for the day to meet up with grandma and grandpa Dudley and take Grandpa out for a birthday lunch. We went to Moxies and it did not disappoint everything was delicious. We then headed to Walmart to get a birthday present for macie and then to this place called let's play so Macie could burn off some energy and play with grandma and grandpa before we had to head home. It was a great day and such a fun time with my parents.

5 AM Wake Up Call
This morning as my phone started going off at 5:00, I was like what the heck is going on, then it hit me. Today I start my morning workout routine. First off to say that I am not a morning person is an understatement, but these past 4 months since going back to work, my hubby back teaching at night and a child that wears me ought during the day I have not had consistent work outs. When adding being done nursing and going on birth control pills to the mix the scale keeps crawling up a little every couple of weeks, I have less energy then when I use to work out consistently everyday and my clothes don't feel as comfortable. So back to the grind it is. I hope I have the strength to be consistent as I know it will truly make for better days and just feeling all around better and healthier.
A couple things to note about working out that early in the morning
- running when you feel like a zombie is not as fun and it takes a good 20 minutes into my run before I feel alive.
- there are a lot more people at the gym then you would think
- my favorite music to workout to sounds like jackhammers in the morning and I definitely skip the white strips and leave on Ingrid michaelson.
- I'm not a huge fan of working out on an empty stomach and will have to train myself to get use to it.
- the one good thing is that it is 7:24 right now and I have already worked out, showered, cleaned my bedroom and bathroom and written a blog post. Oh and got to say morning prayers with my hubby and give him a hug and kiss before he left for his first day at his new job.

She's gonna have Rice in her Diap
Quote from Mark as he was piling rice onto our daughters lap.
She did find it much more exciting then being out of the rice box.

My Brave Little Munchkin
There is a reason why I call Macie my little munchkin all the time. Today she got weighed and was a whole whopping 17 lbs 12 ounces. Putting her in the 3rd percentile for her weight. She was 28 3/4 inches being in the 24th percentile for her height. And she gets the title today of being my brave little munchkin as she did not cry once for all three sets of needles. Direct quote from the health nurse, "this is the toughest kid I have had in a while.

RE-ASSESSING
Do you other mothers out there find that about every 3 weeks, you have to re-asses how you have been doing as a mother, and re-start all over again. These past couple of days life at home with Macie has been a little bit rough, Macie has been fussy, grabby, whinny and even throwing a couple of temper tantrums. The past couple of days I have been blaming her for it, teething, not being able to communicate properly, even maybe having a touch of the flu. Then this afternoon as I was baking banana bread and Macie was helping me and her face was lighting up with smiles and giggles it hit me that I am the reason Macie has been so tough. As I mentioned in my latest post how her obsessions change so quickly, well so does the toys she likes to play with and the things I build for her to play with. She is getting older and a bottle full of silver bells, beads and little colored pom poms wont keep her satisfied anymore for hours. I have to stop for one second and give a huge praise to Pinterst or I truly believe I would be the most boring mom on the planet. So as the little munchkin naps the lists are coming out of new adventures we must have and new things we must explore and new toys and games I must make for the two of us too do. I hope I am right hear and trying new things with Macie and different activities will bring back my happy, fun little girl. Any ideas or tips out there would also be greatly appreciated from other moms who are reading this post and smiling as they probably remember moments like this far to well.

OBSESSIONS
There are a few things in Macie's life right now that she is obsessed with
#1. Balls, even though we play with balls all day at home, when we go to the servus sports centre and there are tons of new toys she could play with she speedily runs past theme and strait for the balls.
#2. Music. I think her happy place right now would be a huge room full of balls that was playing music. We have our stereo set up in our kitchen right now and she knows what the remote looks like, once she sees the remote she cries for it and then points her fingers at the stereo. Once we turn it on she is full out dancing for a good 30 to 45 minutes.
#3. Nelson, her stuffed monkey. This morning I had to give her a little time out in her crib as she would not calm down, I forgot that Nelson was in there and after 2 minutes of pure silence I thought I better check to make sure she was not asleep. When I went in she was lying in her crib and was giving Nelson kisses. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. she even knows the monkey by name and if I ask her to go and get Nelson she knows exactly who he is and where she can find him.
#4. Raisins. It blows my mind that a kid could like raisins this much, but she is crazy obsessed with them. She would eat them all day long everyday if I let her. She never gets sick of them and has at times eaten a whole box to herself, and these boxes are not little.
I am sad to report that her little Octopus bath friend is no longer of interest to her and her new favorite thing to do in the tub is fill a container with water and then poor it out.
It amazes me how quickly her obsessions with things can come and go so quickly. Although I see these 4 obsessions sticking around for quit a while, or at least I hope.

LOOKING AHEAD IN 2013
There are always so many things I desire in life, to be a certain weight, to have so much money in savings, to have things done around my house, especially now with being a mom goals and accomplishments I want to fulfill with Macie. However all of these things in the end are worldly desires and thoughts, though many are good and many are selfish they are still all worldly. Mark these past couple of weeks has really had are family thinking a lot about being less worldly and focusing more on the Savior and how to love and help others more. He quoted a Scripture to me the other day... "Many are called but few are chosen and why are they not chosen, because there Hearts are set upon the things of this world." It really had us both thinking are we individuals that are called but sadly not chosen or called and chosen. I feel that I am not a chosen one yet, but desire so to be. So as I look ahead to accomplishing many goals and tasks this year the only important one the only one I hope to commit to 100% is to try and live my life to be a chosen one.
2013 GOAL
- Read or watch something everyday besides my Scriptures about the Savior.

SO LONG FARWELL!!!!
I couldn't decide if I wanted the title of my post to be Mini Van Mom or So Long Farewell, but seeing as our new vehicle is not a mini van and I shed a tear as I was driving our cobalt to the dealership for one last drive, and Mark shed a tear last night as he drove the truck to the dealership I thought this title was the most appropriate. So truly so long farewell to the GMC Sierra and the Chevy Cobalt (or Kobe, the name my Best Friend gave her). So many good memories and too many to write about, like sleeping in the back seat as we waited at the border crossing for it to open the next day on our way to Colorado, or dancing, crying and screaming in the Cobalt when it truly hit me that I was having a little girl and the vehicle beside me pointing and laughing at me. Both these vehicles were so good to us and kept us safe and seriously gave us tons of good memories, but onto new memories and new adventures in our "New" to us Chevy Traverse.
The option that most excited me was the DVD player, yay for quiter road trips |
