Elders Quorum Barbarian Night

Total Success

After  months of planning and talking it up, we did it. Most guns and ammunition at a church event since the mountain meadow massacre.
Rob Bunnage hosted the event and had a good arsenal to choose from, as well many brethren brought  more than enough guns to make any shooting enthusiast drool.

There were tons of targets, skeets and bullets. It was a blast.

Post Baby: Dad and the Firstlings

Since Kansas got home, dad has tried super hard to keep Macie and Wade busy.

Take kids to provincial park:We did our hike through the provincial park trail. The water level of Cold Lake was really high. Our trek along the beach had gotten a little tight with the water and the bushes. We walked to the campground park and played on the play ground. This was the first time the kids nailed the monkey bars. Macie did all of them first, start to finish and landed on the other side. No help from dad. Wade started with some trepidation and help from dad, but eventually he nailed it with one arm swings. Good way to prepare for gymnastics

On our hike back to the vehicle, we stopped by the camp checking booth and bought some ice-cream and enjoyed it on the remaining walk.

Trip to Lloyd
The 3 of us went to Lloyd to do some Lakeland College Business and hit up the petting zoo. At the college we ran into our good friend Brandi Leavitt Mandes. Kids fell in love with her all over again. She hung out with them for a bit and took them to bud miller on her brake. Kids had an absolute blast.
At the petting zoo the kids ran from animal to animal. Wade loved the alligator by far the best. Macie loved to feed the goats and camel. The new Zebra did not get much of our attention. We did see all of the animals except the baby wolf.  Daddy liked to feed the tortoise's.

Last of all we stopped by the border markers as who knows when we will see these again for a very long time.
Wade was playing shy.

It was a long day and the ride home started very loud, but ended up nice and quiet.
We have had some good times so far, lets hope for many more great days.

WHAT A DAY!!!

Well it will definitely be my most crazy labour story to tell, also my scariest and most spiritual, as Heavenly Father was watching over me and especially Kansas all day. I will begin buy telling you that I tested positive for this bacteria called GBS a couple weeks ago at a Doctor's appt. It is nothing that can harm me, I only carry the strain of it, however because it lives in your uterus, when the baby delivers she can come in contact with it and contract it, which can be very bad and evenly deadly for the baby. With that in mind my Doctor told me at any signs of Labour, or anytime you have any kind of discharge I must come to the hospital right away, so if Labour is happening they need to put me on an IV antibiotic so baby will have way less of a chance for contracting GBS. So with that in mind here goes the story. I woke up Sunday Morning to a hard contraction, and I lost my mucus plug. I went and got my Mom as Mark was away at work and told her we needed to go to the hospital. We got the kids ready for church and a friend came and took them for the day for us. When we got to the hospital Dr Karim came and checked me and I was only 2.5 cm's dilated and was not having any consistent contractions. I thought for sure she would send us home, and she almost did, however at the last minute she decided to send me to Bonnyville as they had no Theatre to do surgeries in with summer and a shortage of staff. She said just incase anything goes wrong and we have to do a section we wouldn't be able to do one here so all Deliveries are being sent to Bonnyville. So they put me in the ambulance and sent me on my way. On the drive there I had some good hard contractions and when the Doctor came in and checked me I was now at 4 cms. He said lets wait 4 hours and see what happens. So next came walking the halls, stairs, and anything else to get things going. For the next 4 hours I had quite a bit of contractions and they where coming on harder. When he came to check me again I was now at 6 cm's and so he decided to break my water and get the ball going. Within 5 minutes I started feeling gross and the contractions where coming on strong and way more painful and every 5 minutes. I decided at this point I needed some drugs. The Nurses went and got the Anesthesiologist but in the mean time gave me some Fentanyl. It did help with the pain but was the worst feeling ever. I felt like I Could barely lift my hands and became so nauseas and light headed. Within 20 minutes I was throwing up and could barely control myself. Thankfully the Anesthesiologist showed up and started to work his magic. After I got settled though with the Epidural everything went crazy from there. Kansas heart rate dropped down to 80 and for a good 10 minutes they could not get it to come back up. They called to the Doctors and the Doctors said to start prepping for a Section and we will come up right away, buy the time the Doctors came up her Heart rate had finally came up again to about 110 so there was hope we could maybe deliver Vaginally, however when the Doctors checked me I had not dilated at all since my last check but was having constant contractions, as well Kansas was not positioned the right way and they saw baby Poop. They immediately ordered the emergency section and said we need to get this baby out right away. Within 10 minutes they had me in surgery and were working on getting Kansas out. I finally breathed probably for the first time in 40 minutes when I saw her beautiful head over the sheet. It was the scariest 30 minutest of my life, but Heavenly Father put some amazing Nurses, Doctors and my husband there to help keep me calm. Every step that was made that day was to keep Kansas safe. From Dr Karim sending me to Bonnyville right away when most Doctors probably would have sent me home as I was not that far dilated and having no heavy contractions, to the Epidural coming when it did, so they could get me in to surgery right away. And in some ways to her heart rate dropping, they probably wouldn't have called down to the doctors and started prepping for the Section if her heart rate wasn't dropping and would have just kept working me through the contractions and getting ready for Labor. With having the GBS in me, the Nurses said they wouldn't be checking me as often as usual cause that increases baby's chance of catching GBS. With the Doctors coming up so early on and checking her and seeing things where not good for baby they were able to get her out safely and stop anything bad from happening. It is day 5 now and we are all so in Love with her. She is so sweet and so precious. She has a full head of brown hair with lighter brown highlights, super skinny legs, hands and feet, and the sweetest chubbiest cheeks ever.

TWINS!!

Wade was looking so handsome the other day, so I took some pictures of him, when I was looking at the pictures afterwards I couldn't believe how much he looked like Macie from a year ago. I went back and looked at some pictures I had of her, and they definitely look like they could be twins. I wonder if baby #3 will be another look a like, or is she gonna have her very own look. Can't wait to see what she looks like.

KIND HEART!!

Wow it has been way to long since I have blogged, but for good reasons I guess, been busy with Lacrosse, swimming lessons, school, and enjoying the beautiful weather. I'm only 8 1/2 weeks away from my due date. It has gone so fast, which has been nice. Anyways the purpose to my post. Macie this week had such a good week with lots of accomplishments. She tried out for the Pre-Jr Dance team and made it, she got 2 goals at her Lacrosse game and played awesome when she was the goalie, making 100% of her saves, I was feeling pretty proud this week being her Mom, but the best part of it all came Friday morning. They had a get out and play day at pre-school and all the parents were invited to come and play outside with there kids. They had skipping ropes, kites, making bird feeders and wind chimes, bean bag toss, magnifying glasses and bug catchers. It was such a fun morning spending some time with Macie at school. At snack time though this little girl melted my heart and made me so proud to be here Mom. We had snack outside on picnic blankets and all the kids were sitting down and eating, when Macie noticed a little boy eating all buy himself. She got up and took her snack and went and sat and ate her snack with the little boy. They ate snack and laughed and giggled the whole time. It was so touching to see her kind heart and sweet spirit see someone needing a friend and going and doing. I wish I could be as innocent and sweet as my little girl. My mind would over think things too much as an adult and say, well they probably want to be left alone, or they don't even know me they don't want some stranger talking to them. Kids don't think like that though, they just see someone in need and go into action right away. I am always so proud to be this little girls Mom, but this week had me especially proud. I hope she keeps that kind heart and love for others her whole life.

Some cute pictures of Macie's favourite craft to do, been wanting to post them for awhile, so thought I would add them as this post is all about this special little girl.

EASTER!

Easter was sweet and simple this year, Mark was away for week, so my wonderful Mother came up to visit. The kids were in Grandma heaven and got spoiled all weekend long. We went swimming, died eggs, had an Easter Egg Hunt, the Kids got Scooters from the Easter Bunny, and on Monday went to our friends house the Ellis' for a delicious Easter Meal and Me, mom and the kids made an Easter Bunny Cake. It didn't turn out as perfect as I wanted but for a first time attempt at it, I was impressed, especially with my lack of tools. It was a great weekend, even with the crazy amount of Snow we got. Though we definitely missed not having Dad around.

Puzzles

Today Macie finished her first 100 piece puzzle all on her own and the other day Wade did his first 64 piece puzzle all by himself. These kids love puzzles and I love how proud they are of themselves when they finish one.

DANCE CLASSES!!

This year Macie had Ballet on Wednesdays and Jazz on Thursdays, she is not super obsessed with dance classes, but once she gets in there and gets going she loves it. Her favourite part though, and mine is the end, when we get to dress up in cute recital clothes and do her hair and make up, get her pictures taken, and then in one month from now when she does her recital pieces on stage. This little girl is such a performer and loves singing and dancing in front of people and has no fear at all. I'm excited to see her pieces this year, as she was in actual classes and not just a tiny tots program, and to see the improvement of her dancing and the actual recital pieces. Pirouette has been such a great dance studio and so happy we made the move this year to Pirouette from Fame.

TIEBREAKER GOES TOO!!

GIRLS!!!!!

On Friday I had an Ultrasound and we still didn't know if we were going to find out or not, Mark of course didn't want to cause he is awesome and loves the surprise, I like the surprise but there has been so many uncertainties with this pregnancy that I just wanted some exciting news, something to make me feel better. So we all went together and at the end when it was time to tell us, the technician went and got Mark and the kids and told us all together that it was a baby girl. I was pretty excited I have kind of been hoping for a girl, and from the moment we got pregnant I had very strong feelings that we were having a girl. Macie was super excited when he told us, and Wade had a pretty big frown face, although once she comes and he see's how cute and little she is he will fall in love with her. We already have a name picked out well 90% picked out.  Kansas Grace, I got it from watching a Kansas game over a month ago on TV, and I just fell in love with the name. So in 4 months and hopefully less we get to meet our little sweetheart.
