Dirt Bikes

We did something crazy. We bought Macie and Wade dirt bikes. Wade got a used Yamaha and Macie a new Suzuki. Our plan was to take them out to the land and let them Cruze around. Well dad was so excited as was the kids that he let them try it out in the back yard. ... with out a helmet.
Well dad explained how it worked and did a rip around the yard then let Wade give it a go. And boy did he go, faster and faster and straight into the fence. Yikes.  There was some serious wailing from Wade as his head hit the fence and the bike laid on him. It was a combination of fear and pain. That equals very loud screams. Mom was panicking big time crying so with all this craziness Kansas joined in the crying.  Our back yard sounded like a Spanish Inquisition.
After much crying Wade came back to his senses. He had a huge bump on his forehead and some cuts on his cheek and chin.  He had received his first concussion. No broken bones.
From what I can tell only minor bruising.
His bike on the other hand has some damage. The front forks where bent back toward the engine which damaged the spark plug and the front rim got bent.
Needless to say we went and got helmets before anymore rides could happen.
Wade took some time to get back on his bike but finally did it and is doing really well. Macie is a champ on her bike. Looking to go faster and faster.

Kansas and her Hair Cut

Now I don’t know all the details but, here are some.
Because of corona virus and home schooling, we have more supplies in our home than normal and more accessible. This includes pencils, glue, paper, and scissors.
Kansas has a thick head of beautiful blonde hair and mom had mentioned in passing conversation the need to get her hair trimmed up a bit, just to even it out. Well Kansas must have heard this conversation and took matters into her own hands. She was in her bedroom quiet, and when she came out she said, “look mom,” holding hair in her hands, “ I cut my hair”
Well with not hair cut salons open due to Covid mom had to clean up Kansas’s mess. She did a pretty good job as there was a chunk missing from the front and from the back.
She now looks like Uma.
She went from this on Sunday

To this on Monday.

Mom was devastated about the hair loss and didn’t want to talk about it but she has got over it and Kansas is still cute as ever
