Two Face lives on!!

Every single time this kid gets hurt it is always on the left side of his face. The Dog bite, cutting open his forehead, a subconjunctival hemmorage to his eye from the end of a dinosaur tail, little cuts and scrapes have always been on this side and today he smoked his face on his bed and of course hit his left eye pretty hard.  We started calling him two face after awhile.

ANOTHER CHANGE!!

A month ago Mark went up to a work camp called Jackfish for Devon. His boss talked to him while he was there and said they needed someone up here full time, would you consider taking it. It would be back to shift work 8 days on 6 days off, and while he is working he is away from the family. We talked about it and prayed about and it felt like the right decision to take it. He would have an awesome trainer to work under, would be able to finish more of his inspection courses, a little bit more pay, and the best part it would allow us to live wherever we wanted. He told his boss that he was interested and in less then a month the deal was made and he starts his new position at the end of May. The process went so fast we thought for sure it would be August at the earliest he would start the new job but nope they wanted him right away. I am so proud of Mark and how hard he has worked at his job and the opportunities he has been given because of it. We definitely won't be moving right away as we have lots of decisions to make and we need the housing market to go back up, but we are excited to eventually be closer to family, the mountains, the temple, and bigger cities.  There is even talk about building on our land in Glenwood, but we shall see.

Becoming a big kid!!

Writing, learning her alphabet, learning to do hand stands (with the help of a wall) I love that she is learning all these new things, but she is becoming less and less of my baby everyday :(

Somehow we did it!!!

So today was our big half marathon, I was getting really discouraged as the day before I started cramping and bloating. I told Mark I didn't think I was gonna be able to do it. My period was not suppose to come until the week after but last month it came 4 days early and this one came 3 days early. I was so annoyed. Mark was so good about it and understanding but I could tell he was sad we were not gonna do it together. After some serious pondering I decided to suck it up and do the race. My amazing friend Melanie Ellis watched the kids for us. We got there nice and early and meet some friends from church, at 9:00 we headed out. The sun was beautiful and shining bright. Mark was beyond amazing and motivated me when cramps started and held my hand during rough moments. By kilometre 16 we knew this was gonna happen that we were gonna finish. We had to walk at km 18 from tired legs and not the nicest path, then we hit km 20 and picked it up again and ran into the finish line with our amazing friends at the end to run in with us.

Beach Bums!!!

I gotta say the best thing about Cold Lake is the amazing beach right here in there town. It is kind of like living at a cabin all summer long. We have already been to the beach three times for swimming and sand castles. And the kids hair is already getting blonder, Love it!

Big bike ride!!

Today I challenged Macie to do a 6 km bike ride. If she could do it I would give her $5 for her piggy bank. She was of course on board for it. I was so proud of her there was hills and a scorching hot sun ( yay May 2nd and 26 degrees), but she did it and totally rocked it. We biked to Sobeys stopped for some fruit, cookies and water and then headed back. Wade also got a loonie at the end as he probably walk/ran for a good 3 kms and when I made him get on his bike (that has a handle where I push him) because there was too much traffic, he listened really good. So proud of these two today. I am hoping buy the end of summer she will be able to do a 10 km bike ride.
