Life Continues to Go Crazy

Quarantine is finally starting to be lifted in small ways, but the effects of people’s behaviour has somewhat changed. More hand sanitizer, more face masks, more social distancing. Less hand shaking, less cash money being accepted. Most vendors prefer the tap. That is tapping your phone or credit card over some kind of reader that will transfer money from one bank account to another.
As Covid cases are dwindling, the world is looking for another news story which could light the world on fire. You may hear the name George Floyd and think that’s just a regular name. Not any more. This name will join the ranks of Emmet Till, Rodney King, and Trayvon Martin.  The world is on fire right now other police brutality towards people of colour. At first the protests brought with them looting, and vandalism of local business and police stations. Fires and beatings, spray paint and brick throwing. The videos that have surfaced have been heart wrenching that one human could treat another human in such a way. Many people are as Paul taught:
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Yet there are some who are sincere and desire honest and fair justice. There are many who try to deceive those honest seekers of truth and our media and political leaders continue to lead us  to much confusion It is challenging to know Who to follow and who to trust.
Recently I have turned off those voices and have lived in the moment more. Although it has be more peaceful to just enjoy local life, the tremors of the outside world easily force their way in and human nature wants to know more.

I have also felt a tangible pull towards God in these troubled times. My desires to pray and listen and read scriptures have been compounded.  In this there is safety and Peace. I have come to realize again and again that the time is now where we must be prepared to hear the voice of the Lord so he can guide us as he did the people of Mosiah.

Behold, I will speak unto you somewhat concerning Mosiah, who was made king over the land of Zarahemla; for behold, he being warned of the Lord that he should flee out of the land of Nephi, and as many as would hearken unto the voice of the Lord should also depart out of the land with him, into the wilderness—
13 And it came to pass that he did according as the Lord had commanded him. And they departed out of the land into the wilderness, as many as would hearken unto the voice of the Lord; and they were led by many preachings and prophesyings. And they were admonished continually by the word of God; and they were led by the power of his arm, through the wilderness until they came down into the land which is called the land of Zarahemla.

When the time comes to be moved it seems like the Lord will speak to his people. Those who don’t hear will miss the journey.

As 2020 has been a wild and crazy year, I don’t anticipate things slowing down. This chaos will continue to escalate and move forward quickly. The amount of change in the last 5 years is staggering. It will only speed up.
May we look to God and Live. May we be worthy hear and follow the Spirit or even the voice of the Lord as times become more challenging and May we be counted worthy to partake in the following promise.
And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory.
