OH THE MADNESS!!!

Of March Madness, one of my favorite times of the year. I remember growing up every year as a family we would order our pizza and watch the Final Game for Monday night Family Home Evening, Mark and I have been able to keep that tradition up as much as possible. This year I am even more pumped for March Madness as having T.V again we have been able to watch some of the games so I know a little bit a very small bit of what has been going on in the nation for college basketball. Also being home full time with baby I have been able to watch games all day long today and is probably what I will be doing the next two weeks. I also love that every year our family does an ESPN Tournament challenge I have yet to win but I feel pretty good this year as I have Kentucky winning it all without a doubt one of the best if not the best team in the nation. I guess we will see on April 2nd who really is the best. This year we also have a tournament challenge with the Harkers and a box of smarties on the line for the winner so Bring it Harkers can't wait to eat my smarties :)

FIRST ROUGH NIGHT!!

Macie has truly been a breeze when it has come to sleeping at night, her 2nd night in the world she slept for four hours and pretty much from then on would sleep 3 to 5 hours every night get up for a quick fed and then sleep for another 3 to 4 hours, then even more glorious at 5 1/2 weeks she started sleeping every night for 6 to 9 hours straight waking up for a quick fed then back to bed for another 2 to 4 hours. maybe 5 times since she was 5 1/2 weeks did she get up after only sleeping 4 hours and want some food. It has made it so easy on me as a new mom and I am hardly ever tired. Well last night was something different that is for sure, she did not go to bed until 10:00 then decided to wake up at 2:00 4 hours not to bad except I did not go to bed until 11:00 so three hours for mommy. She feed and went right back to sleep or so it seemed. I put her in her crib went to bed and 2 minutes later she started crying I thought maybe another quick snuggle would have her fall right back to sleep and we would be good, but nope that is not what Macie had in mind. She fussed and fussed and fussed and would not fall back asleep so then for an hour we played on the floor in her bedroom. She finally seemed tired and maybe a bit hungry again so I fed her and she started falling back asleep when all of a sudden she lost it cried uncontrollibly for a good 20 minutes then all of a sudden threw up all of her food, then proceeded to cry some more. It was now 5:00 in the morning and I had been awake for 3 hours and was exhausted. My sweet husband who I have told never needs to get up when he is on days on came out at 5:00 and said go to bed I will take over from hear. Thank you thank you thank you. He got her back to bed by about 6:00 and she stayed asleep until 8:20, giving mom a good 3 more hours of sleep. I have to say I have even so much more respect for those mothers of babies that are not good sleepers. Today will be a day of lying around doing not much of anything as I am so worn out and exhausted I can't imagine night after night being like that. I am also that much more grateful for Macie and the wonderful little girl she is. Thank you for being such a good baby.
